The rising tide of anger I must overcome
it ebbs and flows over me
wave after wave
curling my lament into a knotted ball

I stop its push, and push back
toes crushing sand
minnows swirling
legs bracing

I steady myself, and take a look back
at where anger has brought me
I am further from the shore than ever

And so, I decide to halt the surrender
turn back, brace for impact
and slowly, as I fight the current back to shore
the waters recede
the journey becomes easier
and the winds of love and forgiveness
replace the surging waters of hate and misunderstanding below
and suddenly,
yet gradually
I find myself

April 2010.
